Description
The Canadian Association on Gerontology has 5 divisions: Health and Biological Sciences, Psychology, Social Sciences, Social Policy and Practice and Educational Gerontology. During the 2.5 day event over 600 people from across Canada and abroad will gather to hear outstanding keynote speakers, cutting edge research, policy and practice papers and posters addressing "hot" topics in each division. There will be multiple opportunities to network, foster collaboration and cooperation, and find out about research funding and job opportunities. The theme is Aging in a Changing World - very timely as the first wave of baby boomers turn 65 in Canada and other OECD countries. Will they be as different as some of the popular press suggest? What are the trends in the workplace, in health care utilization, in housing and in recreation? What do communities need to do to keep boomers health and active? How will the "silver age wave" affect your agency or business? Will it be a tsunami or will it lead to greater productvity and economic growth as people stay on in the workforce rather than withdrawing from it? Join us in Vancouver for a conference you will always remember in a city you will never forget.
