Capacity Africa Institute partnered with Blue Spring International to
organize a very successful South Sudan Investment Conference and Trade
Fair in October 2011 in Juba South Sudan and has also organized Kenya
Trade Fairs in South Africa, Uganda and Congo in the past.

Background for the Kenya Trade Fair

Kenya brokered the Comprehensive Peace Agreement to end twenty two years
of conflict between the Sudan and Southern Sudan. Following the signing
of the CPA in 2005, Kenyan companies were the first to set up operations
in South Sudan. The companies continue to play a major role in the
development of South Sudan through the provision of vital goods and
services as well as the creation of employment for the South Sudanese.

Kenyan companies provide leadership for delivery of quality services in
banking, insurance, hotel industry, advertising, construction, education,
health services, aviation, security services, communications, ICT among
other sectors. Kenya remains the main gateway to South Sudan and a home to
thousands of South Sudanese thereby reaffirming the strong bond existing
between the two countries.

The Kenya Trade Fair was born from the need to increase trade between
Kenya and South Sudan and to vigorously exploit the huge growth potential
that remains untapped between the two countries.

The fair seeks to enable Kenyan companies to expand their opportunities in
South Sudan, but also provide opportunities for South Sudanese owned
businesses and individuals to explore the massive growth potential in the
East Africa's largest and equally promising Kenyan economy.

The main objective of the trade fair is to create forum where Kenyan
businesses can showcase their goods and services in South Sudan.
There other objectives are:
• To enhance information sharing on business opportunities and challenges
in South Sudan.
• To create an opportunity for Kenyan companies in South Sudan to
demonstrate their role in the reconstruction of the Republic of South
Sudan through employment creation and provision of key services.
• It’s an opportunity for Kenyan companies to trade with investors in
South Sudan and others from all over the world.
• To attract South Sudanese nationals to invest in Kenya
• Networking between business to business and between businesses and their
prospective distributors.
• Participants will have first hand information in the investment and
business opportunities available in both Kenya and South Sudan
• To create a platform for the exhibitors to showcase their products and
services to both local and international attendees.
• To promote relations between Kenya and South Sudan

There are several benefits to the participants. The event brings
opportunities for you to position yourself well to the emerging market in
South Sudan. It is also an opportunity for your business to participate in
the reconstruction of South Sudan which has great investment prospects.

You can benefit greatly by sponsoring the event or acquiring space for
exhibitions and through strategic networking with other participants when
you participate as a visitor.

Product exhibitions will provide one on one direct and strategic
networking with other participants. The event will attract over 100
exhibitors from Kenya and other parts of the world.
