So often, we are too busy to start real, human conversations. Too pressed for time to ask patients about their lives. Too immersed in everyday pressures to step back and remind ourselves why we are doing this work. And we may be reluctant to rock the boat by initiating conversations with leaders that challenge the status quo.
These conversations take courage, perseverance, and time. Each and all of these conversations can ultimately help create a higher standard of care that is not only patient-centered, but is truly person-centered. Together we can build the motivation and the strength for these vital conversations.
This year's International Summit will be a time for celebrating our successes, learning from each other, and rediscovering the conversations that are at the heart of transformational care.
