The 1st International Conference on Functional Materials for Defence (ICFMD-2012) will be organized at Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DU), Pune. The primary objective of the conference is to bring together the experts from academic institutions, industries and research organizations devoted to various domains of advanced/functional materials in defence and security areas.
ICFMD-2012, aims to bring together researchers, scientists, engineers and scholarly students to exchange and share their experiences, new ideas, and research results on all aspects of functional materials and discuss the practical challenges encountered by them to handle the critical situations for preparation and studies that can lead to technology development.

Paper are invited from academicians, researchers, engineers, scientists and industry personnel for presentation at the technical sessions of the conference and thereafter if accepted then for publication in international journal of repute.


ABSTRACTS
An abstract of about 300-500 words in any MS word format of 12 font size (Times New Roman) and single spacing along with relevant figures and reference should be submitted online before March 15, 2012. The abstract should include title of paper, name and affiliation of authors including their email address and contact numbers. Selected papers may be considered for publication in International Journal (Negotiations are in the pipe line).

Additional Information

Accommodation: Accommodation can be arranged on request at DIAT guest houses and student hostels on first come first basis. Others may be accommodated in the nearby hotels. The confirmed request must reach us on or before 31st April 2012. The accommodation charges will be borne by the participants and may be in the range of about US $ 50-60 per person per day for those coming from abroad and about Rs.1500-3000 per person per day for Indian delegates. Travel grant is not available. How to reach DIAT: This University is situated at a picturesque place on the banks of Kadhakwasla Lake, after Kadhakwasla Dam on Sinhagad Road, which is about 20 km from Pune Railway Station, 32km from Pune Airport, 18 km from Shivaji Nagar Bus Station and 15km from Swargate Bus Station. The DIAT can be reached by Pune Municipal Transport Corporation Buses, Route No. 49 from Pune Railway Station; Route Nos. 50, 51 and 52 from Shaniwar Wada via Swargate.
