About CIT
The V. Rangasamy Naidu Educational Trust devoted to the cause of promoting Technical and Scientific Literacy, established Coimbatore Institute of Technology (CIT) in 1956. CIT is one of the most reputed and prestigious educational institutions in South India. The Institute backed by world class research and development attained autonomous status in 1987 and is affiliated to the Anna University of Technology.

The Institute boasts of strong Academic–Industrial Interaction and a high quality of research and consultancy. CIT, managed by a pedigreed lineage for the past 50 years, enjoys national repute and is a Government aided Institution. The Institute has the services of competent and qualified faculty, and visionary management to enhance the quality of education at all levels and maintain its position in emerging globalization. We offer degree programs starting from undergraduate to doctoral level in engineering and technology. Our institution is rated with top 25 Engineering Institutions in India. We have been conducting International and National conferences in all fields of Engineering and Technology periodically, to provide an exposure to our faculty and students on the latest advancements. In this context we are organizing an ‘International Conference on Mathematical Modeling and Applied Soft Computing’ (MMASC 2012) during 11-13 July 2012’ at our institute. Submitted conference papers will be reviewed by double blind folded review process MMASC 2012 will be published in the ISBN marked conference proceeding and also in the special issues of some indexed journals.

Theme of the Conference
Engineering, Technology and Sciences roll on the wheels of Mathematics. Mathematics provides us the basis to comprehend and unravel the principles and procedures of Science and Engineering. Validation of engineering concepts can be ascertained only by the application of Mathematical principles. Constant collaborations of Mathematicians and researchers from science and engineering will bring to focus the recent advancements in the ambit of Mathematics. Hence it has become now imperative for researchers, educators, students, scientists, engineers and industrialists to communicate and discuss research developments by exchanging their ideas.

Mathematical modeling and simulation are inevitable tools for solving real life problems. The solutions acquired through these techniques are highly impressive and apt to real life conditions. This methodology of determining solutions to real life problems in the fields of science, engineering and technology has become mandatory in the present premise. The need of the hour is the confluence of the resourceful and dynamic minds from the fields of science, engineering and technology, to discuss existing problems and empirically verify the solutions. Emphasizing this, a conference of like-minds who are engaged in teaching/research in mathematics and engineering and R & D in industry is planned and proposed by Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore. This knowledge based brain storming sessions will include plenary addresses and regular presentations.

The conference is of interest to practice-based scholars, mathematics educators, mathematics researchers, engineering education researchers, academicians and those who are involved in innovative mathematics teaching initiatives and for faculty development. Experienced colleagues and budding educators in the field are also encouraged to participate.
