The Institute of Public Administration in Saudi Arabia is organizing the 2nd Conference for the Institutes of Public Administration and Administrative Development in The cooperation Council for The Arab States of The Gulf, in realization of the objectives of the Institutes of Public Administration and Administrative Development in the cooperation council for the Arab states of the Gulf. These objectives are represented in stimulating the wheel of administrative development in the GCC countries through discussing the problems and issues of administrative development and how to tackle these issues and problems in the light of the international, regional and local developments. This conferences is organized within the range of conferences approved by the Directors of the Institutes of Public administration and Administrative Development in the GCC countries in their 12th meeting dated 21/6/1432 H corresponding 24/5/2011 under the supervision of the Secretariat General of The Cooperation Council for The Arab States of The Gulf. The conference is held during the period Muharram 26 – 28, 1434 H corresponding December 10 – 12, 2012 in Riyadh under the title “Administrative Development in The cooperation Council for The Arab States of The Gulf: Change and Development Challenges: Looking Ahead”.

The conference aims at shedding light on a number of administrative development issues in GCC countries including: the status of administrative development and prospecting its future, reviewing and discussing the modern concepts and styles of change in the public sector, activating the role of transparency and accountability in the government bodies, engagement of citizens and civil society institutions in developing the performance of government agencies, accentuating the importance of managing human capital from a strategic perspective in order to achieve the objectives of administrative development, and exploring the most prominent successful experiences in the field of administrative development.

Distinguished elite decision makers, leaders of organizations, directors of schools, institutes and societies of administrative development, experts, thinkers, practitioners and studiers of development in both public and private sectors will participate in this conference in order to explore and discuss the most important developments and successful experiences in the field of administrative development in The cooperation Council for The Arab States of The Gulf.
