Iyengar Yoga is the only method mentioned by journalist William Broad in his book The Science of Yoga as safe and effective.
In addition to the “stars†of Iyengar Yoga, students can select classes with our National and Regional advanced teachers. Learn how to: safely practice inversions; work with scoliosis; practice advanced twists; balancings; and deepen the practice of forward bends.
Panel Discussions include: the therapeutics of Iyengar yoga; the role of Maitri (“friendlinessâ€) in practice and life; how to become a Certified Iyengar teacher; and more. The keynote features Fred Smith, Ph.D., Sutras Scholar and Professor of Religious Studies. Conference exhibits feature the life and work of BKS Iyengar. The Vendor Marketplace features clothing, props, books, videos, jewelry, and healthy food.
