Description
The Faculty of Engineering, University Pembangunan Panca Budi (UnPAB) in Medan – Indonesia will convene an International Conference on Culture, Society, Technology, and Urban Development in Nusantara, from the 11th to the 13th of October 2012. The conference is organized with the intention of facilitating discourse on intellectual thought and research on the built environment in the Nusantara, particularly with respect to Urban Development. This will be the first conference to integrate the various studies in the field of Architecture, Urbanization, Culture, Society, Technology of Computerization, Policy and Urban Development in Nusantara. The expectation of this conference is to have a better understanding and clearer meaning of the development of cities in the Nusantara. Contributors will address these themes based on their field of studies including Architecture, Environmental Science, Urban Development, Law, Economy, Agro Technology and Computer Science.
ICCSTUDN 2012 will bring together national and international scholars, academics, executives, government and business officials, as well as practitioners and leaders to present and discuss a wide range of architecture, culture, society, and technology issues in the achieving urban development. It is the aim and hope of the organizers that this conference will be able to provide an international forum for the exchange of knowledge, experience and research as well as a review of progress and discussion on state of the art, and future trend in a prospective collaboration and networking environment within the broad field of integrated design in built environment particularly with respect to urban development in the Nusantara.
CALL FOR PAPERS
IC-STUDN 2012 is now accepting abstract and manuscript submissions. Prospective authors are invited to submit their abstract and full paper. Papers on aspects related (but not limited) to those on the topics of interest are invited for oral and poster presentations. Abstract submitted should not be more than 300 words with a brief personal profile outline. Length of the full paper is between 6-10 pages. Submitted file should be in English and MS Word format, and template used is available on conference website: www.iccstudn2012.wordpress.com. Online submission of abstract and full paper is through the conference email: iccstudn2012@gmail.com. After a peer-review process, only papers that has been accepted and presented (both oral and poster) will be in the Conference Proceeding.

STUDENT EXHIBITION
We invite the selected student projects and research to be exhibited during the conference. The exhibition will involve national and international students. Each invited universities may send their best student projects and research. The best students’ projects/research which can be exhibited are:
a. Architecture and Urban Design
b. Building Technology
c. Computerization Technology.
d. Environmental Technology
e. Urban Infrastructure Planning and Transportation.
The exhibition will be held for 3 days (11th - 13th October 2012) parallel to the ICCSTUDN 2012 and open to the public ( from 08.00 - 16.00 ). Visitors can provide comments on the projects/research displayed. During the exhibition there will be walking discussion sessions among participants, visitors and professionals.
