Kathy Abernathy – President – IALD, Abernathy Lighting Design, USA
It was indeed an honour. It was an excellent day on learning about lighting designs, the quality of light, energy saving sustainability. I want to personally thank Acetech as well as the sponsors.
Richard Taylor - ERCO
This is really impressive considering that it is only the second time the lighting summit is actually taking place. I am very happy to be here with ERCO and ERCO obviously participating in many different aspects in exhibition and also in conference so really my privilege. Looking at the speakers and the content and the audience, it’s excellent. Good development.
Akash Kakar - LSI Systems (I) Pvt Ltd
I want to thank Acetech for recognizing the subject lighting and the fact that they have organized this event for the second year in a row is the testimony to the fact that this is the subject which is the most popular among the construction business.
Peter Mitchell - Trilux
The experience of the conference has been very positive, very pleasant. Walking in I was impressed with the size of the sale of the exposition and the conference that we just attended are impressive. In particular the presentations of the panel, sessions that we attended, the projects are always fascinating to see. The projects that are highly skilled that lighting designers and architects come up with are amazing. So it’s always wonderful to see creative solutions and the panel discussions summed it all up really well.
Ramakrishnan – Bajaj Electricals Ltd.
Acetech serves the very important need of providing a platform where architect, lighting designers, product manufacturers, marketers, traders everyone can get together. So I think it’s very relevant it’s very topical and I think it serves a very important purpose. If we can ensure the greater degree of working together in the industry for the larger cause of the consumer I think that there will be a useful bi-product.
Nirupam Sahay - Philips Electronics India Ltd.
I think in terms of particularly the lighting summit in terms of creating a platform and to get people around the world and in India really talking about issues which can take lighting to the next level in India more than in terms of design and solutions, I think it’s doing a great job. So it’s good to see a level, and if I compared it even with last year in terms of the stature of the people and panelists, and the people speaking, I think there has been marked improvement which is great. The lighting summit at the economic times at Acetech 2011, is a great platform for the entire lighting eco-system to come together and deliberate on our common objective of promoting the lighting design industry in India
Charles E. Israel - Lighting Design Alliance, USA
I think it’s a great overall program. The speakers are phenomenal and the expertise they bring from all around the world is extremely informative to everybody, even the other speakers are learning a lot from those other presenters at the same time. Great improvement and I was also very lucky to be here last year as well and it’s amazing to see the conference continue to grow.
Zubin Zainuddin – ZZ Architects
Everybody knows that lighting and Acetech as a whole, are both serious avenues and there is an opportunity for everyone to be together and also share thoughts and processes with each other.
Bo Steiber – Bo Steiber Lighting Design
If I understand correctly this is the second year going .I think that it’s a very good start. India is obviously a very emerging market when it comes to lighting design and I think that the initiative that they’ve taken to put this together, and the quality of the speakers, is very encouraging.
I think at this stage it’s been very well planned and it’s promising for the future.
Paul McNamara FLOS
It’s been fantastic. The response seems to be incredible. The quality of the speakers has been once again exceptional. I believe this is the second year. The subject matter is very interesting and I must say that the hall seems to be full all the time so obviously the right recipe is there. The International Forum here is very very important. It’s great for the lighting industry that we have this because as they say education is key.
Sune Arvad Kristensen-Louis Poulsen Lighting
We as manufacturers have a responsibility to provide the designers in the market with products that can reproduce quality of lighting.
Amit Gupta-Vis a Vis India Pvt Ltd.
The fact is that we have it in us to break the mould. We can change the way things are in design, architecture and lighting
Our generation needs to start talking about efficient solutions, designs which are out of the box, start looking at the spectator. Somewhere we need to go back and say let me think of the spectator that is going to come next.
This power packed show was a complete package and a delight for the lighting industry with some of the most powerful names and innovative brands converging under one roof. The networking and Gala dinner after the conference served as the apt ending with higher expectations for the year to come.
