Our conference covers the key areas of science, practice and innovation. It sets an example for how these areas can create new value, broaden understanding and be a service to society, the economy and education through the channels and dimensions of sport and exercise.

This theoretical approach is well reflected in the joint endeavour of the University of Debrecen, the City of Debrecen and the DVSC-TEVA Football Club, the long-term cooperation and investment of which resulted in the founding of the Debrecen Football Academy. Acknowledging this collaboration as a ‘good practice,’ the theme of our conference was built around the approaching inauguration ceremony of the Football Academy:
“Youth Sport and Talent Management: Challenges of the 21th Century”

A series of anniversaries makes our conference a particularly special celebration:

The Faculty of Applied Economics and Rural Development is turning 10 years old
The University of Debrecen is turning 100 years old
The DVSC-TEVA football club is turning 110 years old
Our invitation to the plenary session has been accepted by outstanding national and international speakers. Special guests are coming from one of the most famous football clubs in the world, FC Barcelona. Using state-of-the-art technology we will receive lectures on-line from oversees. As a result of the cooperation between our Faculty and the National Football Federation, the UEFA ‘A’ licence coaching course will join our conference, too. The "SPARK' award, established by the University of Debrecen for identities delivering long lasting achievements in benefiting youth through the avenues of sports, will be presented during our conference.
Following the plenary sessions, we are encouraging scientific presentations on different topics of tourism and sport. Outstanding, quality presentations will be offered the opportunity to be published in scientific publications. We also are awaiting studies for the “Young Researcher Award”. On the first night of the conference, a Gala Dinner will offer the participants a taste of the local culinary delights and a pleasant forum for networking and professional cooperation.
We hope that during the meeting, our guests will also find some time to visit the city of Debrecen, -this beautiful city with lots of historical buildings and monuments. Following the conference, some interesting options will be offered to you as part of the post-conference program.

Looking forward to meeting you in Debrecen,
Professor András Nábrádi
