Toronto, ON (May 21, 2012) – After three years on the road The International Fuller Woman Expo (TFW Expo) is finally coming home to its roots. On Sunday, July 15, 2012 vendors/exhibitors, presenters, entertainers, models and patrons alike will converge on one of North Americas busiest intersection Yonge Dundas Square to once again applaud the fuller figured woman. This educational and motivational one day consumer trade show dedicated to the uplifting, acknowledgement and celebration of the curvier woman was created to give a voice to this very often neglected demographic.
Created in 2008 to address the ever growing self-esteem, body image, discrimination and sizeism issues surrounding being a full figured woman, The International Fuller Woman Expo provides a wealth of information and resources while empowering, educating and motivating these women to recognize their internal and external beauty through educational workshops, seminars and events. After their last Canadian production in 2009 the expo has been in the United States and now in 2012 the Canadian homecoming jubilee is an anticipated event.
“In a world where body image and first impression counts and where self-esteem is lowered based on unrealistic body perceptions while women are bombarded with conflicting messages about how to look, The Fuller Woman Expo provides a safe and welcoming environment†says Georgia Greenwood, Show Organizer; she continues by saying, “In association with companies and organizations that cater to real everyday women this expo celebrates who you are right now and we are ecstatic to be coming home and hosting the expo at Yonge Dundas Squareâ€.
The Fuller Woman Expo is about encouraging women to become critical media citizens by advancing their understanding of social justice issues pertaining to self-discovery and identity through the representation, interpretation and perception of body images, all the while teaching self-love and acceptance of who you are right now in order to improve who you can become through personal growth.
