On the 31st October 2011 Future Publishing hosted the first BT Africa Conference in Lagos Nigeria. The aim of the conference was to bring together a group of industry delegates to discuss and explore African business travel, with particular focus on the ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States) region, which is made up of Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo. It was a huge success.
Nigeria and its importance as a business travel destination should need little introduction. With a population of 150 million, is one of a very few African countries with direct flights to all corners of the globe including the USA and is ideally located for access to Africa’s north-west. Everyone is heading north in order to plug into this vibrant, emerging sector of the continent. And Business Traveller Africa is paving the way.
In 2012 we are increasing our efforts and size /attendance of our conference, with similar emphasis and added exposure for participants in the form of (limited) exhibition space. Our current sponsors include Delta Airlines and Mastercard and our media partner is Business Day newspaper.
