The Tourism Research Unit of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, Portugal (GITUR) and the European Journal of Tourism, Hospitality and Recreation will jointly organize the 2nd International Conference on Tourism Recreation (ICTR’12) in Peniche, Portugal, on 7 – 9 November 2012, at the School of Tourism and Maritime Technology. The main aim of the event is to provide experts and researchers with the opportunity to revisit themes related to tourism recreation and entertainment and to exchange ideas on the recent advances and state-of-the-art of academic research on the following sub-areas: - Sport tourism - Cruises tourism - Tourism recreation in theme parks - Tourism recreation in hotels and resorts - The art and culture in the tourism recreation and entertainment - Creative industry and tourism recreation
We invite all colleagues to submit their papers on these topics. All papers will be submitted to a double-blind peer review process, and the accepted papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings.
A selection of academic contributions presented at the conference will be proposed for publication in the European Journal of Tourism, Hospitality and Recreation (EJTHR), subject to obey the journal standards
EJTHR considers publishing a Special Issue on Sport Tourism based on a criterious selection of papers presented in the Sport Tourism session of the conference.
