The Canadian Transport Lawyers Association is pleased to announce that the 2012 CTLA Annual Conference (CTLA2012) is taking place at the InterContinental Toronto-Yorkville, in downtown Toronto, Canada, from September 26 to 29, 2012.

This year we are offering a three-day educational programme, featuring legal and industry experts from across the US, Canada and Mexico, who will analyze and explain the complex issues confronting the transportation industry in today's global economy. The programme will include a blend of plenary sessions and smaller, more focussed break-out sessions that will run concurrently. Our trans-national speakers will present a comparative analysis of the laws and legal practices that affect the transportation industry in North America. Our conference is open to lawyers, paralegals and other professionals who have an interest in transportation law.

Founded in Toronto in 1977, the Canadian Transport Lawyers Association held its first annual conference the following year, in Montreal. The CTLA provides a professional and social forum for lawyers engaged in the practice of transportation law, regulatory policy, procedure and related legal interests, whether before the courts, administrative tribunals, or on a commercial or academic basis. For more than 30 years, the CTLA has kept its members current on new developments in provincial, federal and international law that affect Canadian, U.S. and cross-border shippers, carriers and freight intermediaries, and all modes of transportation including air, truck, bus, rail and marine.
