Safety is the state of being “safeâ€, the condition of being protected against physical, social, spiritual, financial, political, emotional, occupational, psychological, educational or other types or consequences of failure, damage, error, accidents, harm or any other event which could be considered non-desirable. Think of safety as a word that applies to the way you do everything in life as a procedure to keep you from harm.
Security is the degree of protection against danger, damage, loss, and crime. Security could also be described as a form of protection like structures and processes that provide or improve safety as a condition.
If a person is in the habit of not giving away anything sensitive about themselves, that person can collaborate with strangers without having to agonize about whether or not they are informers; if the same person knows what not to talk about over the telephone, the enemies can tap the line all they want and it won’t get them anywhere. In this situation, the person is safe whether or not there were any security present. There are many researchers and industrial companies working on everyday solutions to provide greater security solutions for our ever changing environment. Yet, it is important to ensure that every citizen is safe whether it is in our real environment or in the cyber world. We hope to create this platform for both researchers, industry experts and government officials to meet and provide practical solutions and trends in both aspects of safety and security.
