Description

North and South American oil, gas and mining companies are converging to New Orleans this June, for 2 days of debate and concrete case studies from the best in class on social and environmental issues in the extractives industry.

The main focus of the event this year will be on stakeholder engagement best practice and how to make it work to:

- Gain social license to operate in new, more populated areas
- Re-gain trust and promote transparency
- Re-build a reputation as a responsible, ethical business with better, more efficient external communications
- Develop healthy on-going relationships with impacted communities
- Increase capacity building/local sourcing and create more value where you operate

We'll also look at social and environmental impact long-term assessment and risk management, updates on the IFC performance 6, human rights, supply chain management and a lot more.
